What You Can Build

Same tool, different books. Sheet music, tabs, chord charts, lead sheets — if it's a PDF, it goes in.

Why Print a Songbook?

No screen glare on the music stand

Paper is easy to read under stage lights, sunshine, or a dim living room. No brightness to fiddle with mid-song.

Flip, don't scroll

Find the right song in seconds. No pinch-to-zoom, no accidental swipes, no app crashes during the bridge.

Make it yours

Scribble fingering notes in the margins, dog-ear your favorites, highlight tricky bars. A printed book becomes part of your practice.

What the Tool Adds Automatically

You upload the songs. MakeMySongBook handles the rest.

Cover page

Custom title, subtitle, author name, color theme, instrument artwork, decorations, and optional logo.

Table of contents

Auto-generated with song titles, page numbers, and chapter groupings. Updates as you reorder.

Chapter dividers

Full-page dividers with chapter title and description. Four styles: Classic, Modern, Minimal, Ornate.

Page numbers

Automatic numbering on every page, referenced in the table of contents.

Song title headers

Each page shows the song title in the top-right corner so you always know where you are.

Smart page alignment

Blank pages inserted automatically so multi-page songs start on the correct side for double-sided printing.

Tips for a Great Book

  • Name your files "Song Title - Artist.pdf" — MakeMySongBook uses file names as song titles, so clear names save editing later.
  • Sort PDFs into folders by chapter before uploading. Drag in one folder at a time to keep songs grouped from the start.
  • Use A4 full-book format for music stands and binder-punching. Use A5 Booklet for a compact book you can fold and staple.
  • Print on 100–120gsm paper instead of standard 80gsm. It feels better, lasts longer, and handles double-sided printing without bleed-through.
  • Print a test copy of the first few pages before committing to the full book. Check margins, font size, and page alignment.
  • Keep your master PDF. When you add or drop songs, update the project and regenerate — no need to start over.
  • Use heavier paper (160–200gsm) for the cover page for durability. Feed it manually through your printer’s bypass tray.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about making a songbook.

You need your songs as individual PDF files and a printer that supports double-sided printing. Upload your PDFs to MakeMySongBook, arrange them, design a cover, and generate your print-ready book.
Most songbooks can be assembled in 10-15 minutes once you have your song PDFs ready. The tool handles all the formatting, page numbering, and table of contents automatically.
The tool standardizes all pages to the same size (A4 or A5 booklet format). If your source PDFs are different sizes, they will be scaled to fit the chosen format.
For A5 booklets, saddle stapling (folding and stapling in the middle) works great for up to 40 pages. For larger books, consider comb binding, spiral binding, or using a ring binder.
Absolutely. MakeMySongBook works with any type of music PDF — guitar tabs, piano sheet music, ukulele chords, banjo tablature, and more. You can even mix instruments in one book.
