Why Print a Campfire Songbook?

Everyone can sing along

Pass out copies so the whole group has the lyrics and chords. No more mumbling through the second verse.

No phones around the fire

Screens kill the vibe. A printed book keeps everyone present, looking at each other instead of a glowing rectangle.

Survives the outdoors

Paper handles smoke, dirt, and damp better than a tablet. And when it finally wears out, print another one.

Perfect For

Any group gathering where music brings people together.

Camping trips & bonfires

Pack a songbook with your camping gear. After dinner, pass it around and play until the fire dies down.

Summer camps & scouts

Print a booklet for every camper. Songs by activity — morning wake-up, hiking songs, evening campfire, goodnight rounds.

Family reunions & holidays

Aunts, uncles, cousins — everyone can join in with a lyric book. Great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or summer gatherings.

Church retreats & youth groups

Worship songs, hymns, and fun singalongs for outdoor retreats. Chapters by activity or time of day.

Build Your Campfire Book in 5 Steps

From song ideas to a printed book you can pass around.

  1. 1

    Collect chord/lyric sheets as PDFs

Download chord charts with lyrics from guitar sites, export from apps like Ultimate Guitar or Chordify, or make your own in a word processor and save as PDF. Keep it simple — chords above lyrics is all you need for a singalong.

    Find guitar chord charts
  2. 2

    Upload to MakeMySongBook

Drag and drop your PDFs into the builder. Most campfire songs are one page, but multi-page songs are handled automatically too.

  3. 3

    Organize into chapters

Add chapter dividers — "Easy Singalongs," "Classic Acoustic," "Kids & Family," "Closing Songs." Drag songs into chapters and reorder. Add a chapter description like "Songs everyone knows the chorus to."

  4. 4

    Design a fun cover

Set a title like "Campfire Songs 2026" or "The [Family Name] Songbook." Pick warm colors and guitar artwork. Upload a group photo or camp logo if you have one.

  5. 5

    Print copies for everyone

Generate the PDF and print multiple copies. Use A5 Booklet for a compact, fold-and-staple book that fits in a backpack. Hand one to everyone around the fire.

    Printing & binding tips

Tips for a Great Campfire Songbook

  • Stick to songs most people know the chorus to. The goal is group singing, not impressing people with deep cuts.
  • Use large, readable chord charts. Around a fire with low light, small text is impossible. One song per page keeps things clear.
  • Use the A5 Booklet format — it folds to a compact size that fits in a jacket pocket or backpack side pouch.
  • Print on heavier paper (100gsm+). Standard printer paper gets limp fast outdoors, especially with damp or morning dew.
  • Start with easy songs (2–3 chords) so everyone feels included, then build to more complex ones as the night goes on.
  • Add capo position to songs that need it. "Capo 2" next to the title saves someone from having to look it up.
  • Print extras. People will want to take copies home — and some will end up as fire starters by accident.
