I have about 80 tunes for Irish sessions and I can never decide — alphabetical, by key, or by type (reels, jigs, hornpipes)? Curious how others sort theirs.

I sort by session set — groups of 3 tunes that flow well together. Makes it easy to call a set on the spot.

Alphabetical for me. When someone shouts a tune name I don't want to think about which section it's in.

I use tabs at the top of the page — color coded by type. Reels are blue, jigs are green. Works great when flipping quickly.

By key, definitely. If we're jamming in D I can just flip to that section and pick anything.
